He’s sent emails twice to the 134 emails on file for people who have bought them before and also emailed local businesses about corporate sponsorships. It looks like all but one sponsor from last year will be returning and we’ve gotten 2 new ones as well. Please share posts on facebook that thank our sponsors and posts about sponsoring flags. He put up a new banner on the armory lawn this morning and has posters and flyers available for anyone who can help hang them up or distribute. We will for sure be present at the May First Friday. President’s Report: Lion P. Byers
Lion P. Byers said that the Lafayette has informed us the lunch price will increase to $15 effective the 2nd meeting of this month. They said we can continue as we have or order off the menu if we prefer. There was some discussion that we all agree the food quality has gone down and the price has gone up. The current system doesn’t make it conducive for anyone to just show up and join the meeting. Lion J. Greene said this might be a sign and a good time to switch things up and explore other venues such as room options at the Betsey Mills, the back room at Jeremiah’s, or other places downtown. Lion R. Burnworth said there is meeting space at the new Wilky’s Market. Lion J. Greene made a motion to approve the price increase but explore new meeting location options. Lion R. Ferguson seconded the motion and the motion passed. Lion J. Greene will check with Jeremiah’s on meeting room cost and Lion R. Burnworth will inquire about Wilky’s. If you have other options like at a church or can explore new downtown meeting spaces, please inquire and bring info back to the club.
LCIF Coordinator: Lion O. Cartmell said he didn’t receive anything official from LCIF but did view the 2024-2025 annual report from LCIF about where the dollars were spent and over 43 million was given out in grants worldwide that year. It’s really good stuff and you can look it up online to read it.
Community & Youth: Lion B. Burnworth
Lion B. Burnworth was not present. President P. Byers said she received a letter from Lion B. Burnworth requesting to resign from the Community & Youth position and be dropped in good standing from the club.

Membership (46) Lion G. Ingram
Lion G. Ingram said we’re holding at 46 members. Lion K. Burnworth said we do need to vote on Lion B. Burnworth’s request to be dropped from the club in good standing so she made a motion to drop him in good standing. Lion R. Ferguson seconded the motion and the motion passed.

Burnworth said to please continue to collect new/gently used shoes for this fundraiser and feel free to drop them in the building if needed. We do have community boxes for collection at Threadz Boutique and Advantage Real Estate. Please share the facebook posts to get the word out to the community. Lion J. Greene wondered what happens to the leftover shoes from the Zonta event—might be worth checking.
