Celebrating 100 Years of Service!

Tonight, October 13, 2024, we had the pleasure to host Lions from near and far to celebrate our momentous occasion – our 100th anniversary of our chartering. 100 years, thousands of lives impacted, and thousands of hours served – and we will continue to Serve! Thank you to Josh Schlicher, Mayor of Marietta Ohio for the proclamation, IPID KittyandRon Keller for serving as our keynote speaker, and all the Lions from our club and others for celebrating with us! Here’s to 100 more!

Lions Club District OH7 Convention 2025

Our members have been serving and learning in Lancaster this weekend at our Lions Club District OH 7 Convention.

Our Zone Chair and Past President Becca Smeby-Johnson was awarded a Council of Governors Award for her amazing work as Zone Chair this year.

Lion Sara was given a Kindness Award – and gladly accepted the Big Cheese Award for our Club.

Additionally, our club was awarded many recognitions for our service, giving, and dedication to Lionism.

About The Marietta Noon Lions

For 100 years, whenever there has been a need at home or around the world, members of the Marietta Noon Lions Club have been there to help.  We are a group of local men and women who work together to benefit our community and the world.

Service projects that the Marietta Noon Lions contribute to include:

Ohio Lions Eye Bank

Ohio Lions Pilot Dog Program

Scholarships for local high school seniors

Sight saving programs

Secret Santa, EVE, Children’s Services

Halloween parade

Food drive for local food pantries

The Marietta Noon Lions club is a part of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organization with 46,000 clubs, and nearly 1.35 million men and women in nearly 200 countries.

“We Serve” – Since October 1924 the Marietta Noon Lions has followed this inspiring international motto. In various ways over the years we are proud to say our club has risen over $1,000,000 for various charities.  Our largest single expenditure has been buying eyeglasses for those who could not buy their own.  Our membership is 75+  and our members consist of educators, business owners, retirees and more.  We meet  at the Lafayette Hotel and invite you to attend as our guest.
