Yesterday, we had the chance to get together and celebrate our 2026 Lions Year! President Peggy Byers handed off the gavel to incoming President Bob Hadfield. Lion Larry Hawn installed our new officers for the 2026-2027 Lions Year, and President Peggy awarded many of our dedicated Lions recognition for this years efforts. We had the opportunity to meet up with Lyza, one our Scouts who presented about the upcoming National Jamboree. We were proud to help sponsor Lyza and Liberty, who are both on their way to becoming Golden Eagles, achieving both the Golden award through Girl Scouts and Eagle Scout rank with the Scouts. Liberty and Lyza Shared Info About Nationwide Jamboree Goals

Today, we had the pleasure of hosting Liberty Smith and Lyza Miller for lunch – who shared with us about their Nationwide Jamboree goals and what they’re doing as young leaders in our community! Both ladies are on track to become Golden Eagle Scouts (Golden Award in the Girl Scouts and Eagle Scout rank in the Scouts)! They then helped us bag 1400 pairs of shoes for pediatric cancer that were collected across our community and donated from Cobbler John’s! Thank you ladies and best of luck in all you do!

Carol and Pat are volunteers with the Washington County Master Gardeners and spoke about their partnership the Juvenile Detention Center to cultivate their own garden.
