Service Chair Report: Lion Sh. Stormes/Lion J. Greene
Lion J. Greene said she made up 12 bags for EVE for Valentine’s Day – 6 kids and 6 adults, along with needed supplies like paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, etc. and those were delivered on 2/13. They were very appreciative.
Lion S. Marshall said the organizers of the Earth Day Celebration have reached out to us to see if we’d like to participate again this year. With the club’s approval, she will let them know we are interested. We’ll be doing the bird feeder booth again on April 25th from 10-1. She will send out details on needed donations for bird seed, pine cones, twine, peanut butter, and volunteers.
Lion K. Burnworth said she received a letter from ODOT saying they’re cracking down on clubs that do not do the required 4 pick ups per year and will be taking down the sponsor signs for those that don’t. We’ve been complaint for a few years, so this shouldn’t be an issue. The next roadside cleanup will be Saturday March 21st at 9am. She will send out an RSVP email closer to the date.
2nd VP Report: Lion St. Stormes
Bridge of Heroes Update: Lion St. Stormes said the corporate sponsor lunch was last Friday and we had a great turnout. 12 of the 13 corporate sponsors were in attendance. Thank you to those who helped with the event. 2026 sponsorships are now open with the same QR code as last year. Our goal is to have 250 flags sponsored this year in honor of the 250th anniversary. There will be a maintenance day in late April/early May.
Bar Crawl – Lion St. Stormes said this was pushed to the fall.
Car Show – Lion S. McCarthy wasn’t present but is looking for volunteers for help with this event on Father’s Day.

President’s Report: Lion P. Byers
Lion P. Byers was not present but Lion B. Hadfield shared the thank you letter we received from the Homeless Project, the ODOT letter Lion K. Burnworth mentioned above, and the thank you letter for our donation to the Ohio Lions Foundation.
LCIF Coordinator: Lion O. Cartmell – not present, no report
Community & Youth: Lion B. Burnworth
Lion B. Burnworth was not present but had received a request for a donation to the Eve Supervised Visitation Center. Lion C. Archer was present to talk about it. She works there and they recently found out that they lost their funding/contract and would have to close their doors at the end of the month without help. They can re-apply for the funding in September to start in October but are looking for $30,000 minimum to keep the doors open and operating through September. They are shifting the program to be supervised by the Court of Common Pleas who has pledged money to help as well as the Department of Behavioral Health. They also have received a donation from The Bar Association and will be talking to Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs as well. They have made cuts where possible and the money will go through a 3 way checks and balances between EVE, the Visitation Center, and the Court. The center services court referred and non-court referred cases, providing a safe space for kids to visit with parents and build relationships in a supervised neutral environment. There was discussion and Lion S. Camacho made a motion to donate $2,000 at this time and she can always make another ask later depending on how their additional efforts to raise funds goes. Lion St. Stormes seconded the motion and the motion passed. Lion K. Boersma said personal donations would be welcomed as well.
Membership (46) Lion G. Ingram
Lion G. Ingram said we’re holding at 46 members and he hasn’t had anyone take him up on the free lunch for those who haven’t attended in a while. He has flyers if anyone needs them. Lion St. Stormes said he’d pay the dues for the first year for the first new member we recruit who is in their 20s.
Publicity: Lion S. Camacho
Lion S. Camacho said she’s been scheduling posts to our Facebook page. If you have pics or events, please get info to Sara to post. We are still collecting shoes for the OLPCF Shoe Drive and we have 18 pairs so far from our club with more brought in tonight. She’ll also be placing some flyers and said Threadz and Advantage Real Estate have agreed to be collections sites for people in town to drop off. She needs the shoes by May 10th, as they are due on the 15th.
Scholarship: Lion R. Ferguson
Lion R. Ferguson said he’ll be talking to Brittani soon about choosing 3 candidates to award our scholarships to this year.
Old Business:
Multi-Club Jeep Ride Fundraiser – Lion S. Camacho said she met with the organizers and they’ve set a tentative date for Saturday August 15th. The ride will start and end in Gallipolis and have stops in Jackson County and Athens as well as Marietta. They are still trying to secure some other stops. Registration fees for the event will support OLPCF, but any funds we raise locally at our stop will be ours to use in the club. Lion St. Stormes said Gator’s would likely be a good stop and would probably shut down 2nd Street for it. He also said this would be a good substitute for the bar crawl as a fundraiser and we can sponsor baskets and the other items like we usually would. The next meeting is March 19th and we’ll form a club committee after that meeting.
New Buisiness:
State Convention – May 16th, registration due April 23rd. Lion S. Camacho said we have 4 voting spots plus her vote as PDG at the State Convention in Wilmington this year. Since we are voting on/supporting a female International Director candidate this year, she would like people to at least show up for the business portion to vote. That cost is $15.00 and she recommends the club cover this cost. Lion R. Burnworth made a motion to cover the $15 cost for each of the 5 voting members who would go. Lion R. Ferguson seconded the motion and the motion passed. If you want to go, please RSVP to Sara by April 10th so she can submit the required information.
We did Good of the order.
Lion B. Hadfield said it is that time of year to discuss assembling his board of officers for next year and he’ll be contacting people individually to see if they will join him. If you feel so moved to accept a position or are interested, please feel free to reach out to him directly to discuss.
Respectfully submitted, Secretary Lion K. Burnworth
