Lion B. Burnworth and Lion B. Byers said the Knights are also working on this so they’ll try to get more details and coordinate.
Lion Sh. Stormes said she also talked to a contact at Marietta Main Street and there is going to be a community cleanup downtown on November 2nd. They will reach out with additional information on how we can help.
She also said there is a flower bed on the west side that looks a little rough but it may be something controlled by the city so she’s looking into it to see if it’s something we can do for fall cleanup.
2nd VP Report: Lion St. Stormes
Bridge of Heroes Update: Lion St. Stormes said we’ve had another successful flag year with one more display. Flags will go up for Veterans Day on November 6th and down on November 13th. The flags came down in record time last time at 35 min. Lion J. Greene said she attended the coffee chat last month as an ambassador and they have a round table where anyone can talk about what’s going on. She talked about Bridge of Heroes and that might be something we want to attend/do as we kick off next year’s sales for BoH. It’s free to attend and is at Jeremiah’s.
Rose Sale – Lion St. Stormes said orders are due next Tuesday, the 7th. Delivery will be on November 7th from the Lafayette Hotel. Steve will be onsite to help Tonya unload the truck and anyone else who can help is encouraged to join. So far Lion T. Davis reports 350 dozen roses sold. Lion B. Hadfield said there should be a flyer or something about Lions that gets delivered with the roses. Is it possible to have Lions stickers printed up to put on them?
Bar Crawl – Lion St. Stormes said no one has volunteered to run this yet and he’ll do it if needed. Lion J. Greene said she has some ideas and Lion. R. Burnworth said he’d help. This will ramp up in January for a spring crawl.
1st VP Report: Lion B. Hadfield
Sight saving 6 Applications, 5 approved , 0 denied, 0 referred 1 pending. Lion R. Burnworth had referred Resource Officer Craig Brockmeier to the hotline because he’s boots on the ground with the kids and we were able to support glasses for one of them, which is great.

Lion P. Byers said the speaker for the Peoples Bank Theatre Ad can’t make it to tonight’s meeting but sent info and we’ll talk about that further down the agenda. We also still have 4 tickets to the Harvest of Hope spaghetti dinner that we received for our donation to their event. If you can use these tickets, please let her know.

Lion G. Ingram said no one resigned this month which was good news. He has some thank you cards and has created a lunch certificate to try to encourage some unseen members to attend. He said he still hasn’t seen the tri-fold flyer that exists and really wants to get moving on that to make sure it’s updated so we can print them and get them in the hands of our members to distribute. Lion K. Burnworth said she’d follow up with Lion S. Camacho on sending the existing flyer for review.
Publicity: Lion S. Camacho
Not present – no report except that she’s publishing scheduled posts to Facebook
Scholarship: Lion B. Ferguson said he has not received an updated balance on the fund yet, so no report.
Old Business:
Multi-Club Jeep Ride Fundraiser – no update
District Cheese and Sausage Sale – Lion J. Greene said she hasn’t received any orders yet and the deadline is October 10th. We have been the ONLY Big Cheese Champion in the last several years and we’d like to hang on to the title, so get in your orders. Lion K. Burnworth made a motion for $350 toward the teacher meat/cheese trays. Lion B. Burnworth seconded the motion. The motion passed.
New Business:
People’s Bank Theatre Program Ad: Lion P. Byers passed around the email from her contact quoting pricing and also a playbill showing the ads. Lion R. Burnworth made a motion to spend the $1,000 for the Headliner rate for “A Christmas Carol” which includes marquee info, marketing, and a 6 month run in the Playbill. Lion B. Burnworth seconded the motion. There was some discussion on the goal for the ad—membership, marketing, etc., where the ad will be in the playbill, do we have a chance to have a table or pass out flyers on site, and what will our ad look like. Lion R. Burnworth will look into some of these answers since he works right across the street.
Lion R. Ferguson said he is part of the 250th celebration committee and wanted to let people know there will be a county-wide celebration on July 4th, 2026 that will include a parade ending at the Washington County Fairgrounds with food, a parade in Belpre around 4, and fireworks in Beverly that evening. There will also be a “selfie passport” checklist where you get entered to win prizes if you attend so many of the events on the passport. It will be a great time and great celebration. They will need volunteers to work the food booth and may need a donation from the club for costs but are looking to get most of those covered with grants. Stay tuned for more details.
We did Good of the order.
The meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted, Secretary Lion K. Burnworth
