2nd VP Report: Lion St. Stormes
Bridge of Heroes Update: Lion St. Stormes said the flags are up for the 4th and will come down at 8am on July 14th. 133 flags have been sponsored so far which is about 30 short from the total sponsored last year. We have exceeded last year’s fundraising total, however, due to increased corporate sponsorships. There is still time to sponsor a flag so please keep soliciting sponsorships. The new trailer worked out well and will be used moving forward.
Father’s Day Car Show Recap: the car show was cancelled due to weather. No recap. Lion St. Stormes reminded everyone to please keep the building tidy—don’t just drop stuff inside the door. There are plenty of shelves for storage.
1st VP Report: Lion B. Hadfield
Sight saving 2 Applications, 2 approved , 0 denied, 0 referred 0 pending. Lion P. Byers is working with Lion B. Hadfield to get him set up with the Magic Jack app for the vision phone calls. Lion G. Ingram said there are several boxes of glasses at Eye Care Associates and he’s happy to hang on to them and count them until we have to take them to the zone meeting in the fall. He asked Lion B. Hadfield to let him know when we want them brought to the building. Lion K. Burnworth will email Lion B. Hadfield a list of the eye glass donation drop boxes so he can coordinate pick ups at each location.
President’s Report: Lion P. Byers
Since the budget was approved as part of the treasurer’s discussion, she has no report.
LCIF Coordinator: Lion O. Cartmell said he tried to find something specific about the LCIF efforts due to recent flooding in Kentucky and West Virginia but was unable to locate anything. Obviously, however, there is a great need, so please consider donations to LCIF.
Community & Youth: Lion B. Burnworth
Lion B. Burnworth received the request from Ely Chapman for a $500 donation toward the Kids Zone at Harmar Days, which is clearly an event for the community and directed toward the youth, so he’s in full support of this and made a motion to donate the $500.00. Lion K. Burnworth seconded the motion and the motion passed.
Please email Lion B. Burnworth at brandonburnworth@me.com with any donation requests. Whatever causes you’d like to support, he’s happy to hear the pitch and bring it before the club for consideration, but these ideas come from everyone.
Lion B. Burnworth made a motion to donate $250 toward youth sports for their helmet cycling program. Helmets have to be replaced every 5 years and are very expensive. Lion K. Boersma seconded the motion and the motion passed.
Membership (50) Lion G. Ingram said he reached out to Lion K. Burnworth for a club roster earlier today and will come with ideas to the next meeting. Lion K. Burnworth will include the roster in the minutes for members to review and make corrections.
Publicity: Lion S. Camacho was not present and there is no report. As always, if you need something advertised with local media or on facebook, please send her the information.

Old Business:
Officer Installation/Awards Ceremony Recap – Lion P. Byers thanked everyone who showed up early to help set up. She said it was a great evening but wished to see more club members there.
4th of July Party at Medleys – All Lions are invited to join the party at 7pm at 143 Rauch Drive in Marietta. Bring your own chair or blanket. Sloppy joes, hotdogs, and softdrinks, and water will be provided but please bring your own alcohol and, as a thank you to Steve’s efforts, please bring a covered dish or dessert. They put on a great fireworks show, so we hope to see you there.
Lion J. Greene played catch up handing out some awards. She gave a perfect attendance pin to Lion J. Schneider, gave Lion B. Byers his Excellent Treasurer award from District Convention, and Let Lion K. Boersma know that she’d been awarded the Betty Coffey Fellowship and would get the statue to Kathy when it arrives.
Lion B. Burnworth said he now has the sign for the baseball field and will be attaching the Lions logo to it. The field looks amazing and they’ve paid the remaining balance for the chain link fence. We’re invited to throw out a game pitch and there is still an $829 balance in our donations that will be given to the St. Mary’s Boosters to manage on our behalf, earmarked specifically for ballfield expenses. It’s really amazing and has been put to great use in the community. The next planned project down there are possible chainlink fence dugouts and a removable outfield fence. Lion B. Burnworth donated a flag pole which will fly and American flag as well as a Lions club flag.
New Business:
Washington Electric Co-Op Family Fun Day Event – Lion J. Greene said we volunteered last year to help grill burgers, hot dogs, work games, and keep food stocked in exchange for a $250 donation. The event is happening again this year on Friday, July 25th and 6-8 volunteers would be needed from about 5:15-8:30pm. She already heard yes’s from Lion J. Schneider, Lion T. Henderson, Lions B. & P. Byers, and Lion B. Hadfield to do this. Lion St. Stormes said he and Lion Sh. Stormes will also volunteer. That fills up the volunteer need. Volunteers will get a free meal that evening. Thank you.
Lion P. Byers said Lion Greg Randolf reached out and will be attending the July 11th lunch meeting. We will also be hosting the February 25th zone meeting.
Lion K. Burnworth said she received an email from the District looking for volunteers to work the District Booth at the Sweetcorn Festival August 27th-August 30th. We have had members volunteer in the past and Lion K. Burnworth will send out the email so club members can sign up using the link provided by Lion Jo Ann Seaman. This year’s raised funds will go to Canine Companions.
Lion B. Byers will be sending out dues notices tonight or tomorrow so please be on the lookout for them in your inbox. Single membership is $80 for the year and Member+Spouse is $138.50.
We did Good of the order:
Lion B. Byers said he was concerned about members who are no longer active and is open to ideas on how to get them back in the fold and involved.

Respectfully submitted, Secretary Lion K. Burnworth
