Marietta Noon Lions Board Meeting Minutes
January 7th, 2025

Secretary Report: Lion K. Burnworth
The minutes from the December board meeting were emailed to the club. Lion J. Greene made a motion to accept and Lion B. Hadfield seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report: Lion B. Byers
The treasurer’s figures for December were emailed prior to the board meeting with the Activity Fund at $29,919.64 & Admin Fund at $8,196.39. Lion B. Byers said the international dues for 46 members were paid today for $1050.00. Lion J. Schneider made a motion to accept and Lion J. Greene seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Service Chair Report: Lion Sh. Stormes/Lion J. Greene
No report.
2nd VP Report: Lion St. Stormes
Bridge of Heroes Update: Lion St. Stormes said the corporate sponsor lunch will be on Friday, February 27th and invites will go out at the end of January. Flag sales will likely open on 4/1 and we’ll try to take advantage of the 250th anniversary to sell more flags.
Bar Crawl – Lion St. Stormes said this committee consisting of Lions Sh. Stormes, St. Stormes, J. Greene, and R. Burnworth will start meeting ½ hour earlier before next month’s board meeting to start planning an event for May.
1st VP Report: Lion B. Hadfield
Sight saving 3 Applications, 3 approved , 0 denied, 0 referred 0 pending.
President’s Report: Lion P. Byers
Lion P. Byers said we got a thank you letter from the Chesterhill Lions for our donation to their building and we also got a thank you letter from Washington Elementary for the meat/cheese trays.
This year’s Christmas party will be on 2/7 at 6pm at Gran Rey. Please RSVP to Peggy by February 5th. We will order off the menu and Sidney will send out more details on games/white elephant.
We’re hosting the February 25th Zone Meeting at Washington Electric and are responsible for food. If you’re attending, please bring an appetizer/hors d’oeuvres by 6:15 so we’re ready for eating at 6:30 and the meeting at 7:00.
LCIF Coordinator: Lion O. Cartmell said no report.
Community & Youth: Lion B. Burnworth
Lion K. Burnworth said we received an email to be a sponsor for the Habitat dinner again this year and they’d like us to sponsor $1,000 like last year. Lion K. Burnworth made a motion to do this for $1,000. Lion S. Camacho seconded the motion and the motion passed.
Membership (45) Lion G. Ingram
Not present, no report.
Lion S. Camacho mentioned that some clubs do a donation in memoriam for club members who have passed. She made a motion to donate $50 to LCIF in memory of Lion Maribeth Browne. Lion S. Marshall seconded the motion and the motion passed.
Publicity: Lion S. Camacho
Lion S. Camacho said she’s been scheduling posts to our Facebook page. If you have pics or events, please get info to Sara to post.
Lion K. Burnworth said she, Lion R. Burnworth, Lion C. Cassidy-Archer, and Lion B. Ferguson greeted guests attending the Christmas Carol Lions Sponsored show at People’s Bank Theatre. We had flyers available for anyone interested and left a couple at the concession stand to be viewed at intermission. A few Lions stayed for the show and Lion T. Henderson said it was a really nice production. Lion R. Burnworth said we should look to sponsor another show in 6 months or December of next year.
Scholarship: Lion B. Ferguson not present, no report
Old Business:
Multi-Club Jeep Ride Fundraiser – Lion S. Camacho said this is still on hold
New Business:
District Convention – March 7th – Lion S. Camacho said information was sent out recently about the 1 day convention at Crossroads in Lancaster on March 7th. We will have 4 delegates + Sara to vote this year. It’s $100 for the full day, $40 for the business session and lunch, or just $15 for the business session with no meal. We’ll vote on this next month as far as what the club will cover for attendees so we can get a count and RSVP before the deadline.
International Director Campaigns – Lion S. Camacho said we’ll have an opportunity this year at State Convention to vote for a possible Ohio International Director. Jackie Miller and Lydia Houser are running and have sent out info about themselves and may visit clubs.
District Convention Contest Reminder – Lion S. Camacho sent out an email recently asking for members to let her know if they’ve attended another club’s meeting, event, or fundraiser since January of last year until now. (Lions pancake breakfasts, gun raffles, meetings, Sweet Corn Festival, etc.) She needs these numbers to count toward our contest forms due soon. Please email her asap.
