Lions Club District OH7 Convention 2025

Our members have been serving and learning in Lancaster this weekend at our Lions Club District OH 7 Convention. Our Zone Chair and Past President Becca Smeby-Johnson was awarded a Council of Governors Award for her amazing work as Zone Chair this year. Lion Sara was given a Kindness Award – and gladly accepted the Big Cheese Award for our Club. Additionally, our club was awarded many recognitions for our service, giving, and dedication to Lionism.

My Very Own Blanket Project – Our Club Made 100 Tie Blankets

Even in the colder months and recent weather, our members have found ways to Serve!Under the Lions Club District OH 7 My Very Own Blanket project, our club made 100 tie blankets for Foster Kids in SE Ohio Today, we delivered to Noble and Monroe Counties Children Services 60 blankets to children in need. Morgan County Children’s Services will receive the other 40 blankets, as our other Washington County Lions Clubs (Beverly Lions) serviced the Washington County Children Services needs. We always celebrate Christmas with a party after the traditional season is over and people have more time for celebrating. Marietta Noon Lions got together this evening for their annual Christmas party! From a white elephant auction to reindeer games, fun was had by all! Food, fun, and fellowship are major tenants of our Club – with Service as our foundation! All of our DaVinci’s Restaurant and Santee Sweets leftovers went to EVE, Incorporated.

January 10, 2025 Starting the Year with Cake Kits

Starting the year off right with service!  Today members of our club helped pack 100 Cake Kits for our local food pantries – to help us celebrate 100 years of service to the Marietta area! Each  kit contained:1 cake pan1 cake mix1 can of frosting1 can of sodaThe addition of soda made the cake mix complete, so a recipient didn’t need eggs, oil, or milk! 50 kits were given to GOSPEL MISSION FOOD PANTRY and 50 to the Greater Marietta Community Food Pantry. #WeServe

Last week, at the board meeting, we signed 500 cards for the Armed Forces Retirement Homes in both Washington DC and Gulfport, MS.
